Our 2024 Roadmap

As a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization, the BCC will gradually become active in the areas of education, public outreach/engagement, research, and policy. We will increase awareness among Canadians of the economic and social benefits of Bitcoin. We will increase local Bitcoin adoption and use across Canada. We will help grow the base of evidence underscoring Bitcoin's positive social, economic and environmental impact. And, we will work across the political spectrum to help diverse policymakers at federal, provincial and municipal levels better understand how Bitcoin is a multi-faceted solution to many of our most pressing challenges. 

As we get started, in 2024, we need to focus our time and energy as we build for the future. We will:

• Amplify positive messages from everyday Bitcoiners across Canada, increasing public visibility and awareness of the various benefits of Bitcoin for Canada and the world.

• Support local Bitcoin meet-ups / communities across Canada to increase visibility and participation, and to support them as part of a national network, growing the Bitcoin movement across Canada.

• Build out the BCC website and other communications channels, providing “go to” resources for the public, policymakers, researchers, and news media.

• Roll out Advisory/Action Groups where Canadian Bitcoiners can get involved and work collaboratively to achieve our shared mission. These will focus on public engagement and education (including support for local meet-ups); policy development and government relations; and research.

• Develop key partnerships in Canada (eg, Canadian Bitcoin Conference) and beyond (eg, U.S. Bitcoin Policy Institute) so that we can leverage collective capacity and resources.

• Host in-person and virtual forums that provide education to and resources for policymakers and news media, underscoring Bitcoin’s positive impact across Canada and around the world.

• Develop and implement a multi-year plan to achieve our mission, with emphasis on long-term sustainability, clear deliverables and milestones.
